Guest speakers participate in the semi-annual AEIC meetings which cover a diverse range of topics such as applications, market growth, regulatory status, user and regulatory acceptance of immunoassay testing in the US and worldwide, and new detection methodology. Invited speakers have included scientists and regulators at the international, federal, regional and state levels (see “Meeting Archive” on the website for minutes of AEIC meetings). The semi-annual meeting is also used to debate, review, and gain consensus of the general membership on AEIC guidance documents. In addition to the regular meetings, AEIC co-sponsored a symposia and training sessions on practical applications of immunoassay and PCR (see “Events and Activities” section).
The AEIC has published guideline documents which cover general nomenclature, proper kit insert information, quality standards for development and validation of immunoassay test kits, guidelines for using immunochemical methods for the generation of data in support of chemical pesticide registration to the EPA, guidelines for the validation and use of immunoassays for biotechnology enhanced crops and a description of PCR as an analytical tool in agricultural biotechnology.
