Education is a top priority in gaining broader acceptance of application of immunoassay to environmental analytical applications. Thus, on behalf of AEIC, individuals from member organizations make numerous presentations on educational, technical and regulatory subjects at regional, national and international meetings. Workshops and training sessions have been designed, developed and presented to state and federal regulatory agencies.
Most notably, in March of 1995, AEIC members presented a training session at the Region 3 EPA meeting of the Office of Solid Waste (OSW). In April, 1995, and October, 1998, AEIC sponsored a lecture and demonstration workshop for representatives from several divisions of the EPA . All of these sessions were designed to provide regulatory scientists and policy makers with a technical overview of immunochemical methods, case studies and actual demonstrations of immunoassay kits and related equipment from several vendors who are AEIC members.
